June 8, 2012 – Dream: The Great Guy Who Wasn’t So Great

In this dream, I was shopping in a mall with a girlfriend.  We went into a shoe store and met a woman who was purchasing a new pair of very expensive shoes.  I commented to her that in order for me to afford that same pair of shoes, I’d have to buy them one shoe at a time! We were laughing in the dream.

As we waited for the cashier to ring her up, I noticed her feet; they were huge “man feet” and she wore furry shoes.  She kept wiggling her toes around, it was so wierd!  The entire sight was just plain ugly.

She starts talking to us about her new man and how wonderful he is. She went on and on about him, my friend became sore jealous of her.  So, I decided to find out what made this guy so great.  I asked her a series of questions, things like:

Is he intelligent?  (Her reply: No.)

Is he romantic?   (No.)

Is he a great kisser?  (No.)

Does he cook?   (No.)

Is he sweet and really passionate?  (No.)

Is he handsome?  (No.)

Is he handy with tools?  (No.)

Well…what’s left….money!  He’s rich….?   (Nope.)

My friend and I looked at her like we didn’t understand why she was with him, and she sensed our doubt.  She began making excuses.  I felt sorry for her, a woman who doesn’t know why she is with her man is truly lost!

In the dream, I was so thankful for the Man I am with.   I knew His Name, and I knew why I was with Him, and how absolutely wonderful He is.   That was when Jesus picked me up, and lifted me to the clouds!

The expensive shoes vs the free gift of Jesus.  Blessed are the feet of them, who bring Good News!

Scriptural Interpretation:

Rom 5:16-21  And the free gift shall not be as by one having sinned; (for indeed the judgment was of one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses to justification.  For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one, much more they who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ.)

Therefore as by one offense sentence came on all men to condemnation, even so by the righteousness of One the free gift came to all men to justification of life.   For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of One shall many be made righteous.

But the Law entered so that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound, so that as sin has reigned to death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
